“I approached Sarah following a diagnosis of Oral Thrush, caused by Silent Reflux at the Hospital via Endoscopy. I had been suffering with multiple symptoms, some of which I would never have linked with the health issue, including a persistent sore throat, throat ulsers, severe memory recall, ADHD behaviour & reduced libido.

During the consultation period, Sarah made me feel at ease with talking about my symptoms. We went through her questions via Zoom & I really felt her empathy with my health situation.

“I approached Sarah due to ongoing stomach problems, which had all too easily been diagnosed as IBS years ago. Although I felt like I had a handle on it for a while and I had seen some different people before, it had gotten worse and I wanted to try to find out what I could do to make things better.

Initially I did a food diary so she could see my everyday eating habits along with any problems I was having. We then had a call to chat through everything in detail and Sarah really listened in such a warm and calming way. She made me feel very comfortable talking about quite personal things. She had so many ideas and suggestions and her knowledge really was amazing. She also asked me about anything else I wanted to improve and included that in my plan, so I felt like I got a lot more than I had signed up for.

The plan she sent me was incredible and I felt it had gone above and beyond what I had hoped for. It’s definitely not just a ‘diet’ or just a food plan which I have looked into before. She included types of vitamins and ideas for lifestyle changes, really caring about everything that could affect not just my stomach but my whole wellbeing. She also never once said ‘you mustn’t have this or that’ which I had also been told previously, it was all done in an understanding but friendly suggestive way which meant I made those decisions to eliminate some things myself! One aspect I loved in my plan was that Sarah took the weekly food diary that I had given her and created an amazing and totally delicious food plan based on all my likes – just with tweaks and some swaps of things that could trigger my issues, so it was very clever and really easy to follow! She also sent me blogs and recipe ideas giving me loads of inspiration to create more dishes myself which I loved and totally embraced!

I wanted to address my diet as I had been suffering with inflammation and gout in my knees and ankle and my doctor said that eating better could be a way to improve it. I was also very conscious of turning 40 and having two small children who I was struggling to keep up with and play with easily as I am very inflexible and get very sore muscles. At our initial consultation Sarah was very easy to speak to and I felt I could tell her about all of my concerns without judgement. I must confess I was a little sceptical at first as I think I am a good cook and didn’t know how much I would get from the session, but I was amazed by what she explained! There was so much I didn’t realise about combinations of food groups and how to structure my meals. The plan that she sent over was easy to follow and had lots of delicious ideas, new foods and combinations that I wouldn’t have previously thought of.

Sarah was regularly in touch after our meetings and I loved the changes that I started to notice, I have had such an improvement to my mobility, energy levels and concentration. I wish I had spoken to her sooner! “From the beginning of our online communication Sarah was efficient and organised in explaining what I was to expect from the consultation. She took a detailed medical history including any medication I was taking regularly including any allergies I may have. We discussed what I wanted to achieve from the consultation. My main concerns were about managing my osteoarthritis pain and some digestion issues I had been experiencing, which had begun to affect my wellbeing.

Sarah was sensitive in her questioning, and this resulted in a very detailed plan for me to follow which took account of my comments and lifestyle. The plan included some dietary changes and recommendations for supplements. She clearly explained the possible health benefits from taking these supplements.

I followed her initial plan for 7 weeks and whilst I didn’t make all the changes she recommended, those I did make made a big difference to my day to day life. A follow up consultation with Sarah reassured me that this was a lifestyle change which I could sustain.

My osteoarthritis pain is now well managed through diet, gentle exercise, and a change of dietary supplements. I follow a more plant-based diet on Sarah’s recommendation, and this has greatly improved my digestion issues.
