Hi I’m Sarah, a Registered Nutritional Therapist based
in Brighton

I gained my qualification in Naturopathic Nutrition following three years of studies and clinical training at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM).
I’m a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) – a professional body for Nutritional Therapy Practitioners, and I’m registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) – the independent UK regulators for the Nutritional Therapy Profession who are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
I’m also a certified ‘DNA Life’ Nutrigenomics/genetics practitioner following completion of the BANT recognised, post-graduate training course with Nordic Labs.
I’m based in Brighton and can speak to people online, or in person.

I’m very passionate about food and health and how nutrition can affect our whole self, including how we feel, how we think and what we do, along with the complex systems within us that we don’t usually think about until something’s not right.
Every one of us is unique and everybody’s nutritional needs are different, so I will find out how your whole body is currently functioning and what your current environment is like. By doing this I can learn what is right for you to help achieve your health goals and get closer to the root cause of what may be bothering you and suggest some food and lifestyle changes I think may help.
With a tailored plan and the knowledge I have gained, I can guide you into becoming more mindful about nutrition and your health, and hopefully make a positive difference to your life.
If you would like to find out more please do not hesitate to get in touch.

My Story
I became a Nutritional Therapist because of my passion for food and health – I’m fascinated by the power food has when it comes to health and ill-health. I also love helping people, especially when the support I provide makes people feel better in themselves and more in control. It’s an amazing feeling when I see clients in their follow-up consultations and how happy they are following the changes they’ve made to their food and lifestyle.

My passion for nutrition was starting to show from school age, in my Home Economics class and following completion of a Sports Nutrition course aged 16. However, nutrition was not the initial path I followed and I spent over a decade of my career in Client Services, in both design and digital agencies.
Growing up I did not have a healthy relationship with myself and had a distorted view of what being healthy meant, I certainly didn’t nourish myself like I know how to now. Instead, I was purchasing every new diet book and magazine available and following whatever fad promised to make me slimmer, because that’s what I thought I needed to be. My weight yo-yo’d for years, along with my self esteem.
The lifestyle I’ve led over the years has also challenged my body, however the impact it was having was only something I thought about in my early thirties, when I realised it wasn’t helping me, it was actually making me feel worse. I was pushing on through the weeks and surviving, only wishing to feel like I was thriving.
Depression has also woven itself throughout my life and it was on the back of one of its spells in my early thirties, that I embarked on my first alcohol free January. At the end of this dry month, in a period of clarity, I found the Naturopathic Nutrition course at CNM and had that light bulb moment. However, the thought of going to college again felt like a pipe-dream, so I spent the next couple of years attending open days and seminars at CNM London, learning whatever I could whenever I could. Roll on a few more years, and my very thoughtful fiancé enrolling me onto the course as a Christmas gift, I finally made it to the classroom…and wow, it did not disappoint! It was so much more in depth than I expected and I loved every single subject delivered by exceptional lecturer’s. From biomedicine, anatomy, physiology and pathologies, to biochemistry, pathophysiology and of course food – glorious nutritious food and the power of nature!
It was absolutely fascinating to learn about all the connections within us, what the body can do given the right nutrients and environment, and how this can support a number of health issues and facilitate healing. And it was here, through learning about our incredible bodies, that I found a whole new respect for my own and have now become more mindful about the foods and drinks I consume.
I now feel like I’m more in control of my health and managing the challenges of life better because I’m more conscious about the food and lifestyle choices I make. These choices play a huge part in keeping me positive, motivated and energised, which are attributes even more important to me now that I’m a mum of two small humans.
I’m thrilled I can now help other people feel better in themselves by passing on the knowledge and experience I have gained from my studies, my Continual Professional Development requirements and seeing clients.
